Some places hold more than memories, they hold the soul of a community. For generations, Mom & Pop’s Convenience Store stood as a beloved landmark on the east shore of Lake Murray, a place where neighbors became friends and the simple act of stopping in felt like coming home. Founded by Mabel and Burt Paschall, the original store was more than a place to pick up supplies — it was a gathering point, a handshake, a warm smile at the water’s edge.
In 2024, that cherished legacy was given new life. The Legate family, with deep roots in the Lake Murray community, joined with fellow lake lovers and local visionaries to reopen and reimagine what Mom & Pop’s could be. Honoring the spirit of Mabel and Burt, the beloved corner store has grown into something truly special; a destination where the lake lifestyle is celebrated from sunup to sundown.
Mom & Pop’s Grill is a place designed for living. The fully fenced grounds mean the little ones can run, laugh, and play freely while parents unwind and reconnect. Toss a bag in a game of cornhole, pull up a chair on the patio, or find your spot near the stage on a Friday night when the music rolls in off the lake breeze. Whether you’re here for a cold drink at the full bar, a glass from our carefully curated wine list, or a plate of something unforgettable, there’s always room for you here.
Our kitchen pays homage to the bold and the comforting — the flavors that feel like home with a little something extra. Sink into a plate of hand-battered fried catfish or a golden chicken fried steak the way it was meant to be made. Share a round of jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in crispy bacon.
